A modern vehicle is the most expensive computer that you own. While car hacking may seem like science fiction, today’s cars have serious security vulnerabilities. These security gaps could allow a remote hacker to take control of vehicles’ computer systems and cause crashes.
I accepted an invitation from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to tour the Pinckney Cyber Training Institute, co-located in Pinckney Community High School. I came away impressed by the professionalism of both the students and instructors and left convinced that the future of cybersecurity is in great hands.
I recently interviewed five Ukrainian soldiers who are fighting against Russian-backed separatists in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. During my interview, I jokingly asked one young soldier, who calls himself Myhalych, “Why do Russian and Ukrainian soldiers always wear balaclavas?”
